Jennings Junior High enacted a dress code to foster a sense of belonging and unity among students and to promote an environment free from social acceptance based on apparel and clothing styles. When students are adorned in a uniform at school, it allows them to be free of economic and social differences, reducing peer pressure related to their clothing or popular clothing styles.
Students are to arrive on campus in uniform (WARRIOR READY) and remain in uniform during the entire academic day (in classes and all lunches). The academic day is defined as any time the student is on campus while classes are in session. Any refusal to comply with the uniform code or dress-down dress code, including inappropriate shoes, will be subjected to consequences.
Student are required to adhere to the dress code set forth by District policy. In addition, no article of any type that promotes drugs, gangs, groups, violence, or sexual themes will be permitted on school property. This includes any items that memorialize anyone associated with any of the above activities. It should also be understood that all students are subject to any additional dress code determined by this school or district based upon changes in fashion or issues within the school or community.
